If you are a Christian it’s important to be in God’s Word everyday. You are accountable to what you take in and listen too. In a recent sermon done by Pastor Jesse Kahler, on September 17th he spoke about what it mean to be born again.
“When a person is born again by the very sprite of God we call that how they are saved. It’s something God does in a person, and has everything to do with their understanding or significance they give to Jesus Christ. His life, death, resurrection. When that becomes so significant to them and that’s how they are finding forgiveness of their sins, that’s what they are trusting in after death, we would say they have been born again. They become awaken to God.”*bold emphasized
This is a HUGE problem, because this IS another Gospel. One would have to ask one’s self. How much significance do you have to give to Jesus? How do I know Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection has become significant enough to be saved? This is what the Bible calls a different Gospel! This is a gospel based off of feelings, experience, and NO assurance. Considering Pastor Jesse uses terms such as “lean into,” “experience,” “feel,” “unleash” “it’s like,” “it’s as if,” in his sermons often, his seeker friendly “gospel” is based on feelings and not knowledge.
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Here is what it means to be Born Again!!!
How does that come to be? Ephesians 2:8-9 states, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” When one is saved, he/she has been born again, spiritually renewed, and is now a child of God by right of new birth. Trusting in Jesus Christ, the One who paid the penalty of sin when He died on the cross, is the means to be “born again.” “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
If you have never trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, will you consider the prompting of the Holy Spirit as He speaks to your heart? You need to be born again. Will you pray the prayer of repentance and become a new creation in Christ today? “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God” (John 1:12-13).
As you can read for yourself being born again has NOTHING to do with mustering up enough significance in Jesus, but everything to do with repentance and trust in Jesus as the perfect payment for your sins.
